Hayden MacFadden Gets Grant
The State has awarded $1.2 million in additional federal funding to one of the city’s worst performing schools. Hayden-McFadden elementary is the recipient of the competitive grant, which will go to increasing learning time for students and implementing new evaluation systems for principals and teachers over the next three years. According to a news release from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the district also received $64,500 to support the school’s turnaround efforts. Hayden-McFadden is one of two “level 4″ schools in the district, a measure of low performance.The Parker School is also ranked level 4.
