Casino companies that have won licenses in Massachusetts have donated $4.5 million this month to a group fighting repeal of the state's gambling law.

That's according to reports filed with the state office of Campaign and Political Finance.

The records show Wynn Resorts donated $1 million on Oct. 7 to the Coalition to Protect Mass Jobs. It's the first time the company, led by Las Vegas gambling mogul Steve Wynn, has put its financial muscle behind the anti-repeal effort.

Wynn plans a casino in Everett.

MGM Resorts, which plans a downtown Springfield casino, made two donations worth $2.5 million and Penn National, which plans a slots parlor in Plainville, gave $1 million during the reporting period that ended Oct. 20.

Anti-repeal forces spent more than $3.2 million during the period.
