The nation's longest painting, The Grand Panorama of a Whaling Voyage "Round The World," is now on display at the Kilburn Mill Studios, 127 West Rodney French Boulevard in the South End. The artwork was created in 1848 and restored by the New Bedford Whaling Museum. The painting is 1,275 feet long! The museum's Chief Curator Christina Connett visits Townsquare Sunday this week to discuss the painstaking restoration, the planning behind the display, and why everyone should see that historic artwork.
