With just weeks until Inauguration Day, Governor-elect Charlie Baker paid a visit to New Bedford Wednesday on his tour across the Commonwealth.

Baker made stops at Carney Academy and Boa Vista Towers.

He says getting to know people in the communities is key to serving the Commonwealth.

Baker didn't shed much light on the future of SouthCoast rail or a casino, but focused on his administration's education plan.

He tells WBSM News his first priority is closing the achievement gap across the State.

He also says he plans to look at level one schools, like Carney, for answers to success.
