Gov. Deval Patrick's administration will have a different look heading into his final two years in office.

Patrick has scheduled a news conference Thursday afternoon to announce major changes in his cabinet.

An administration official confirmed to The Associated Press that four Cabinet secretaries have left their posts: Administration and Finance Secretary Jay Gonzalez; Health and Human Services Secretary JudyAnn Bigby; Public Safety Secretary Mary Beth Heffernan; and Education Secretary Paul Reville.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because Patrick has not publicly confirmed the changes.

Gonzalez, the governor's top budget aide, will be replaced by Glen Shor, who currently heads the agency that oversees the state's first-in-the-nation universal health care law.

Bigby will be replaced by John Polanowicz, president of St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Heffernan's successor is Suffolk County Sheriff Andrea Cabral. (AP)
