The Baker-Polito Administration is awarding more than $9 million in grants to vocational schools, community colleges and training programs to purchase new equipment that will connect students and state residents to economic opportunities in high demand industries.

One of the grants, $495,000 is going to Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.

According to a press release from the Governor's office, the Workplace Skills funding will be used to upgrade the school's advanced manufacturing training equipment to assist high school students, B-C-C students, and adult basic learners in training for modern manufacturing jobs.

Governor Baker says the grants will ensure that more residents have the skills they need to succeed in and support the Commonwealth's economic future.
