Graduation day is always special, and that was the case Sunday at the Global Learning Charter Public School in New Bedford. Global Learning graduated its largest class ever; 33 students.

Executive Director Stephen Furtado says this year's class is special. "We've got students attending Brandeis University, and universities across the country" said Furtado. "It's been a very successful class with some of the highest SAT scores we've ever had."

Commencement ceremonies were held in the school's gymnasium on Ashley Boulevard, and Mayor Jon Mitchell was one of the speakers.

Other high schools graduating seniors this weekend include Fairhaven, Bishop Stang, and Old Rochester Regional.
