Getting Crafty and More [AROUND TOWN WITH PHIL]

The 31^st Annual Scholarship Fund Craft Fair at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School is being held Saturday, Nov 24 and Sunday, Nov 25 at the high school’s Z. Walter Janiak Field House, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

This is one of the largest local indoor craft fairs, featuring some of the top hobbyists and artisans in New England with over 150 crafters. Holiday wreaths, hand-crafted woodwork and pottery, country crafts, jewelry, quilts, candles, along with homemade chocolates and jams, are only some of the featured items. It’s a great place to do your holiday shopping!

After leisurely visiting the many delightful booths and doing your holiday shopping, visit the concession stand where food and refreshments will be sold for your pleasure. The cost is only a $1 donation to enter the fair, and all proceeds go to student scholarships. Have fun at a truly “old fashioned" craft fair.

The Pilgrim Women's Club of Pilgrim United Church of Christ at 634 Purchase St., New Bedford invites you to their Holly Tree Fair on Saturday, December 1 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be incredibly low prices on jewelry, gifts and children's crafts. Enjoy a light lunch, delicious soups and the bake table. Admission is free, and all proceeds support the church.

The Rotary Club of New Bedford invites you to enjoy their 14th Annual Breakfast With Santa, catered by D&D Caterers, on Sunday, Nov 25 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the New Bedford YMCA, 25 Water St., New Bedford. There will be free pictures of each child with Santa. There will also be an arts and craft area. Admission is only $10 for adults and $6 for children; children under 3 are free. Tickets are payable either at the door or ahead of time by calling Marc Shpritzer at (508) 789-3138. All proceeds benefit local charities.
