Supporters looking to get several questions on next year's state ballot have until Wednesday night to turn in signatures.

State Representative Geoff Diehl is working to let the public decide if the state's gas tax should be tied to the rate of inflation. He says his petition has nothing to do with the recent three-cent tax increase.

Diehl says he has well surpassed the required 69,000 signatures, but wants to collect 100,000 to be on the safe side.

City and town halls will validate the signatures and then turn them over to the Secretary of State by December 4th. The petitions will then go before the legislature for approval.
