Gambling Commission Leader Says Ethics Complaint Dismissed

AP - The head of the state Gaming Commission says an ethics complaint against him has been dismissed.

Stephen Crosby sent an email to commission staff Thursday afternoon saying the state Ethics Commission won't take further action on whether he acted improperly during the competition for the Boston-area casino license, which ultimately went to Wynn Resorts last year.

The state Ethics Commission, which generally does not comment on pending investigations, did not immediately respond Thursday.

The announcement followed another by state Attorney General Maura Healey's office on Thursday saying it won't take any action on a complaint the Mashpee Wampanoag tribe filed as it seeks to block the planned June 24 opening of the state's first casino, Plainridge Park.

The commission is meeting Thursday to grant provisional approval for its opening.
