The two Boston firefighters who died battling a nine-alarm blaze at a city apartment building are being laid to rest this week.

    A wake for Lt. Edward Walsh is scheduled for Tuesday followed by a funeral Mass scheduled for Wednesday, both at St. Patrick's Church in Watertown.

    Walsh, a native of the Boston suburb, comes from a family of firefighters and leaves behind a wife and three children.

    A wake for firefighter Michael Kennedy is scheduled for Wednesday at the P.E. Murray Funeral Home in the city's West Roxbury neighborhood. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday at Holy Name Church in West Roxbury.

    The cause of the blaze in the brownstone in the Back Bay remains under investigation.  (Associated Press}
