Fun 107 is back at it for another year of Friday Night Lights on the South Coast. To kickoff this year's coverage The Fun 107 Morning Show and Street Team will be at Bishop Stang High School as the Spartans host the Wareham Vikings this Friday.Friday night's matchup pits two teams coming off opening night wins so something's got to give.

The Vikings, who finished last season 2-9 and 0-4 in the South Coast Conference, battled through a tough contest against Fairhaven last Friday and gritty out a 19-6 win. While the score might look a bit lopsided, the game played out much differently.

After struggling to score for two quarters Wareham was able to break their silence in the third. In the fourth quarter the team scored a go ahead touchdown courtesy of their first year starting quarterback  Isaac Nascimento and quickly followed that up with the dagger on a kick off fumble recovery, the very next play.

As for the Spartans, who went 6-5 overall and 2-2 in the Eastern League last year, they came out of the gate strong and never trailed as they defeated the Voc-Tech Bears 21-7, to start their season.

Even though Stang is without their senior quarterback, Matt Golden, who suffered a broken leg in the preseason, the Spartans used their powered running attack to dominate the Bears all night long.

The two-man rushing attack of Nick Landry and Jeff Chicca, who combined for all three of the team's scores, proved to be too much for the Voc-Tech defense to handle.

While both teams snagged opening night wins, it looks like Stang has the upper hand heading into their week two match up. Though they will once again be without their senior leader at quarterback, the Spartans shouldn't have much trouble protecting their young backup and relying on Landry and Chicca to do most of the heavy lifting on offense. Also Wareham's win seemed to be aided by gaffes on the part of Fairhaven. If Stang can stay away from similar mistakes they should be able to pull out the win, as they did last year when the beat the Vikings 42-26 early in the season.

Regardless of predictions, you never truly know what will happen under those Friday Night Lights. That's all the more reason to head to Bishop Stang High School this Friday at 7:00 pm to see your favorite morning show crew and some great high school football action.
