A fugitive being sought by Puerto Rican authorities was arrested in Fall River.

Lt. Paul Santos says that at 1:10 p.m. Thursday Fall River Police Department's Emergency Services Unit went to a dwelling house with a search warrant for the arrest of Pedro Torres.

Following his arrest Torres was taken to the Fall River Police Headquarters' City Jail where he is being held until his arraignment at the Fall River Justice Center for a charge of being a fugitive from justice to wit: Puerto Rico.

The US Marshals Service, R.I. State Police, Mass. State Police, Mass. Parole, and Fall River Police all took part in the arrest.

Santos says Fall River Police are continuing to investigate potential future charges against Torres in Massachusetts.
