Sheenah Savoy was a waitress at the Bertucci's Italian Restaurant in the Silver City Galleria Mall who was stabbed by Arthur DaRosa while working Tuesday night.

Her friend, Heidi Pinto, told ABC6 how she responded upon hearing the news.

"I called her sister and that's when I found out that she was stabbed four times. I didn't know if she was alive or dead,” said Pinto.

Savoy had to be med-flighted to RI Hospital for surgery and Pinto says she rushed over to see her.

"I said baby I love you and I gave her a kiss on the forehead and she said Heidi please don't touch me but that's like her joking and then I said I'm sorry baby I love you and she said I love you too,” said Pinto.

Pinto says Savoy wasn't even supposed to be working that night, but picked up the extra shift to help support her daughter.

She is all about her daughter. And everything is about her. She works really hard that's what she was doing picking up an extra shift, she usually doesn't work Tuesday's,” said Pinto.

Pinto also praised George Heath, a visual design teacher at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School who was killed by DaRosa while trying to save Savoy.

"I think of him as a hero,” said Pinto.

Pinto say's Savoy's surgery went well.

A service will be held in honor of Heath at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Taunton Green.
