The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School Committee has appointed a new interim superintendent of schools.

Accordingto published reports, the board appointed Kristine Nash. She will replace current interim Jessica Huizenga, who is leaving the district at the end of the current school year to become assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction for Cambridge Public schools.

Nash brings a wealth of educational experience to Freetown-Lakeville, having served as superintendent for the Hanover school district from 2006 until her retirement earlier this year. Nash was also an assistant superintendent in Dover-Sherborn and was a classroom teacher for 26 years. She has lived in Rochester for the past 23 years.
