Freetown Police are warning residents to be on the lookout after a rash of burglaries early Saturday morning. Six homes in the Assonet Village area were broken into and cell phones, cash and other small items stolen. Police Chief Carlton Abbot says that the thieves appeared to have gained entry to the homes through unlocked doors or by forcing locked ones open.police are asking residents to make sure alarm systems are activated and to keep house doors and vehicles locked.
