Freetown Bank of America Branch Closing

Bank of America is planning on closing another branch this spring. According to published reports , the Chase Road location in Freetown appears to be the latest victim of online banking and declining foot traffic.

The company wouldn't disclose the number of employees who work at the branch or the number of customers it serves. The Acushnet Avenue branch is 7 miles from the one in Freetown and the next closest Bank of America after that is 8 miles away on Faunce Corner Road in Dartmouth.

The bank shut down its Rockdale Avenue branch in New Bedford in June. The bank currently has 260 banking centers in the state.
