Four people have now been charged in connection with a pair of shootings Monday afternoon in New Bedford's West End. 

Police arrested 19 year old Melanie Ribeiro and two male juveniles Monday afternoon, after stopping a car a short distance away from where the shootings took place.  A fourth suspect, 18 year old Shallh Gilmette Shazan, surrendered to police Monday night. 

In one of the incidents, a gunman opened fire on a group of people from a car near County St.  In the second incident, someone fired a shot at a car parked on Chancery St.   No one was hurt in either incident, but the gunfire prompted Police to order a lockdown at Carney Acadamy.  Students were dismissed aobut 45 minutes later. 

Ribeiro and the juveniles are facing charges of assault with intent to murder.  Police are still  investigating whether the incidents were gang-related.
