Massachusetts State Police say four people are facing charges following a Thursday afternoon car chase on Route 6.

A trooper in the Yarmouth barracks reported seeing a stolen 2008 Nissan Altima around 2:40 p.m.

The trooper tried to pull the car over but the driver refused to stop and fled at a high rate of speed.

The pursuit was terminated when the car approached traffic that had stopped at Exit 2.

The driver of the Altima, identified as 21-year-old Daneka Pires of Quincy, drove onto the shoulder of the road and began driving on grass to pass the stopped traffic.

Another trooper, who was working a detail on the Sagamore Bridge ahead of the car, deployed stop sticks just before the bridge.

Pires stopped the car before coming onto the stop sticks and Pires and her three passengers were arrested.

Pires, who also has several warrants, is being charged with Using a Motor Vehicle Without Authority; Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle; Marked Lanes Violation; Receiving Stolen Property; Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, Subsequent Offense; Leaving the Scene of a Crash; Speeding; and Breakdown Lane Violation.

The three passengers, identified as 21-Year-old Shaqueira Fergus of Roslindale; 26-year-old Richard Mendes of Boston; and 36-year-old Gladys Olivares, believed to be of Boston, were each charged with receiving stolen property.

All four suspects were booked at the State Police Barracks in Bourne.
