Tonight, as New England Patriots fans settle in to watch the team's third preseason game, against the Carolina Panthers, fans from Dartmouth will be watching for more than just their local team; they'll be watching one of their own.

Former Dartmouth High School football star Jordan Todman, who signed a one-year deal this off season with the Panthers, will be on full display this evening as he suits up in the preseason bout.

Todman, who was drafted in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers, battled some early career injuries that made it hard for him to stick on a roster out of the gate.

After being waived and reassigned to the Chargers' practice squad he was signed by the Minnesota Vikings at the end of the 2011 season. Again, after dealing with a training camp injury, Todman was cut and placed on the practice squad until he was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars late in the 2012 season.

After making his debut in 2012, Todman cracked the Jaguars opening day roster in 2013 and played for the team through the 2014 season.

In his career, he's played in 33 games while rushing for 450 yards on 111 attempts and scoring three touchdowns. He's also been a threat in the passing game as he's caught 40 passes for 314 yards and two scores.

The 5-10 running back, who has also excelled as a kick returner, is off to a good start through the Panthers' first two preseason games as he's carried the ball eight times for 48 yards and snagged a couple of passes.

Tonight will be a great chance for Todman to continue to establish himself as a viable option for Carolina and to, once again, show all the folks back home the electric speed and skill that made him a Dartmouth legend.
