The entire Southcoast is bracing for a winter storm that's expected to hit the area this weekend.

ABC6 Stormtracker Meteorologist Steve Cascione told WBSM's Phil Paleologos that the storm is still far out and forecasters will need a few more days before it can be determined what kind of activity we can expect.

"The system is still way out in the Pacific, it hasn't even moved in across the Pacific Northwest, so it's going to take some time before the computers really get a handle on the exact track," said Cascione "and we all know here in New England the track makes all the difference from very little snow to a bunch of snow, or even a change over to rain."

However, Cascione said that whatever the storm may bring forecasters are fairly certain of when it will arrive.

"If it does impact us, it would be late Saturday morning, more likely Saturday afternoon, Saturday night, ending on Sunday morning and we just can't put a number on it at this point," said Cascione "but I'd say be prepared for some kind of stormy weather over the weekend."
