In full disclosure, Food Network Chopped Champion and New England's Premier Chef Joe Rego is one of the most terrific people I have ever known! Rated as one of America's finest chefs, Joe is proud to call New Bedford home. And come this Sunday, January 3, New Bedford will continue to be proud of Joe as he appears on the Food Network Show, Cutthroat Kitchen, at 10 pm.

Would you like to be with the Chef for a party celebrating the launch of the show? It's as easy as simply showing up at about 9 pm at the Top Shelf Bar & Grill at 1825 Acushnet Ave., in the North End of New Bedford.

Joe is no stranger to the Food Network or to tough competition. He won $10,000 as the winner of Chopped and now, Cutthroat Kitchen will offer the winner some serious cash. Joe and his three other competitors will be given $25,000 to start and can pay to sabotage other players and benefit themselves throughout the show. Whoever makes it to the end gets to keep the cash remaining. He told the Standard-Times, "All I can say about the participation of the show is that there is a lot of curve balls thrown to you. You never know what comes at you because Alton Brown is so unpredictable on how he is going to sabotage you.”
