A Florida man arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man in Easton last week has refused to waive extradition.

Prosecutors say 47-year-old Michael Arthur Noguera will be held without bail in South Carolina while Massachusetts officials obtain a special warrant.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says the process could take several weeks.

Noguera was arraigned in South Carolina Monday. He's been charged in Massachusetts with accessory to murder-after the fact, armed robbery and larceny over $250 in connection with the death of Daniel Smith.

The 35-year-old was found suffering from gunshot wounds by young boys riding their bikes in the woods last Tuesday.

Smith was a former Easton resident who now lives in Florida. It couldn't be immediately determined if Noguera has a lawyer.
