Florida Man Beaten, Charged in Fall River Hotel Confrontation

A Florida man celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary with his wife in a Fall River hotel was hospitalized after being assaulted.

ABC6 News says 79-year-old Al Marceau of Florida was assaulted by several members of a wedding party early Sunday morning after he left his room in the Comfort Inn to tell them to quiet down. When police arrived on the scene, Marceau was lying on the ground with injuries to his face.

The 79-year-old man was hospitalized, and has also been charged with assault and battery.

A man and woman from Somerville, and a man from Taunton have all been charged with assault and battery on a person over 60 years old.

The four people have been summonsed, but a court date has not been made public.
