NEW BEDFORD — As the steady rain was falling throughout Saturday morning, ABC6 Meteorologist Tim Studebaker tells us that we need to brace for high winds and the possibility of flash floods.

Along with the warning of winds gusts of 40 to 50 miles per hour, comes the threat of downed tree limbs and power outages.

Meteorologist Studebaker posted this forecast:

Rain & wind for much of the day.  Most spots will see 2-3" of rain with urban and poor drainage flooding possible.  A few spots could surpass the 3" rainfall mark.  Inland areas should see northeast winds 15-20 mph, gusting to 30-45 mph.  Coastal spots should see northeast winds 20-30 mph, gusting to 45-55 mph, even 60+ for the cape/islands.  Thunderstorms possible Saturday evening.

Other areas included in the warnings are Barnstable and Plymouth.
