The New York-based Equinox Fitness Club company has stirred controversy with a new ad campaign that shows a glamorous topless model breastfeeding twins in a restaurant, with the slogan: "Commit to something."

The model, Lydia Hearst, does not actually have children, so it is not really breastfeeding in the photo.

According to Fox News, many have been criticizing the campaign on social media, calling it disgusting, while others have supported it.

The breastfeeding advocacy group, La Leche League of New York are among those who back the ad, with rep Leigh Anne O' Connor telling Fox News that "My initial reaction is great. Let's normalize breastfeeding."

What do you think of the ad?

  • Beyond your thoughts on the ad itself, does it make sense that it's being used to promote a fitness club company?
  • What do you think of the model in the shot not actually breastfeeding since she's not a mother?  Should the ad have used a model who's actually a breastfeeding mom.
