NEW BEDFORD — Four crew members from the fishing vessel Rose Marie were rescued after their vessel caught fire Thursday afternoon, about 65 miles east of Chatham.

Three other fishing vessels took part in the rescue, with the vessel Seven Seas picking up the crew members from their life raft.

Their were no injuries reported, according to the Coast Guard.

Coast Guard aircraft and and the 270-foot cutter Legare responded to the area.  The fire eventually burned itself out.

A commercial salvage tug is towing the Rose Marie back to New Bedford and is expected to arrive sometime Saturday morning. The fire is under investigation by the Coast Guard.
