More than 70 fishermen went back to school Friday, taking part in a fishing safety training program at the UMass School of Marine Science and Technology in New Bedford.  Fishing Partnership Support Services sponsored the training.  The Partnership's J.J. Bartlett tells WBSM News, commercial fishing in the Atlantic is a dangerous profession.

Fishing boat Capt. Rodney Avila Jr. agrees.  He and members of his crew have gone thru the training multiple times.

Fishermen were instructed on water rescues, the use of survival suits, operating fire extinguishers and the use of flares.
