For the tenth consecutive year, seafood buyers from around the world make a stop in New Bedford to buy fish.

The buyers come by way of the Seafood Expo in Boston.  Deputy Port Director Ed Anthes-Washburn tells WBSM News, for many of the buyers, the visit to New Bedford is the highlight of the Expo......

The visit is organized each year by the Mass. Export Center and the Chamber of Commerce.

The buyers come from as far away as China, Hong Kong, Northern Europe and Russia.

Their stops included a look at the Wharfinger Building on Fishermen's Pier, where the New Bedford fish auction originated, and the computerized transactions carried out today at the Seafood Display auction.

The buyers also visited two processing plants, toured a fishing boat, and had lunch at the Waterfront Grill.
