First Lady Michelle Obama is getting behind a proposal to prohibit the marketing of junk food and sodas in schools.

Hosting a "school wellness" event at the White House, the First Lady cited the national problem of childhood obesity and said parents can no longer let kids "eat whatever they want." She insisted that healthy habits are becoming the "new norm."

The proposal is part of a new school wellness policy that is being crafted by the U.S. Agriculture Department. Mrs. Obama noted, "Water just surpassed soda as the most commonly consumed beverage. She added, "Yay for water!"
