Firefighters Honored At City Hall

 Three New Bedford firefighters were recognized at City Hall Tuesday by Mayor Jon Mitchell, Fire Chief Michael Gomes and the City Council.

Firefighters Thomas Ferguson, James Teixeira, and William Sullivan were recognized for rescuing a woman from a third-floor window during a house fire on Campbell Street last month. 

Chief Gomes says his men faced some obstacles.....

The three firefighters recieved official resolutions from the Mayor as well as the City Council.

The firefighters were responding to a fire on November 23 when they saw the woman in the window. Chief Gomes said it is important to recognize these men, but they were just doing their jobs.
