New Bedford firefighters were called to a fire at a tire recycling company Monday night.

A dispatcher tells WBSM News that they received a call about the fire at Bobs Tire Co. on 78 Brook St. shortly before 8 p.m.

Firefighters who arrived on the scene reported that they found the building filled with smoke.

The fire was in a machine that shreds tires and firefighters were able to confine the fire to the machine's hopper with the fire being put out by 8:44 p.m.

All five employees working at the time were accounted for and no injuries were reported.
