Feds to Locate Gas Reserves In New York And Boston

The U.S. Department of Energy has announced it will be building gasoline reserves in the New York City Harbor region and Boston..

The reserves would hold a combined one-million barrels in gasoline to provide short-term relief following disasters like Hurricane Sandy. There was a severe gas shortage in the New York City region following the super storm.

Energy Secretary and Fall river native Ernest Moniz says the reserves are a step toward from the President’s climate action plan to better prepare for the effects of climate change. (Metro Networks, Inc)
