Fatal Motorcycle Crash Under Investigation by Dartmouth Police

DARTMOUTH — Authorities are investigating fatal motorcycle crash that occurred in Dartmouth early Saturday night.

At approximately 7:05 p.m., Dartmouth Police, and other emergency personnel, responded to the area of 897 Smith Neck Road for a reported crash involving a single motorcycle.

Upon arrival, officers located the operator of the 2004 Honda motorcycle and identified him as 51-year-old Gary Casmira, of Middlesex Avenue, in Dartmouth.

As a result of the injuries he sustained during the crash, Casmira was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he passed away a short time later.

The crash in currently under investigation by members of the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit, and Dartmouth Police Department Detective Division.
