Fast food workers are protesting across the country today and demanding higher wages.

In Durham, North Carolina, workers chanted "hold the burgers, hold the fries, make our wages super-sized."

In New York City, protesters yelled "we can't survive on seven-25."

McDonald's released a statement saying "to right-size the headlines...the events taking place are not strikes.  Outside groups are traveling to McDonald's and other outlets to stage rallies."

Protesters are calling for fast-food workers to make 15 dollars an hour, which is nearly double their average current wage.  (Metro Networks Inc.)
