Fast-Food Workers Protest For Higher Wages
Fast food workers are protesting across the country today and demanding higher wages.
In Durham, North Carolina, workers chanted “hold the burgers, hold the fries, make our wages super-sized.”
In New York City, protesters yelled “we can’t survive on seven-25.”
McDonald’s released a statement saying “to right-size the headlines…the events taking place are not strikes. Outside groups are traveling to McDonald’s and other outlets to stage rallies.”
Protesters are calling for fast-food workers to make 15 dollars an hour, which is nearly double their average current wage. (Metro Networks Inc.)
