Daily fantasy sports companies FanDuel and DraftKings are being granted a temporary reprieve.

A New York Appeals Court judge suspended an injunction granted earlier in the day calling for the companies to stop operating in The Empire State.

The stay will allow the companies to continue operating until at least January 4th.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has been pushing for the two companies to be prevented from operating in his state under an anti-gambling measure.

The two companies claim their services aren't gambling and are games of skill instead.  (Metro Networks Inc.)
