A Falmouth man is facing charges after failing to stop for Police following a crash in Wareham.

Police responded Thursday evening to an area on Cranberry Highway where a car had struck a guard rail, causing significant damage, and then left the scene.

Officers spotted the suspect vehicle, and activated emergency lights and sirens. Police say however, the suspect car continued traveling on Cranberry Highway for about a mile before pulling over.

Police arrested 45 year old Phillip Murphy of Falmouth and charged him with motor vehicle and drug violations.

A search of the car turned up several pills identified as amphetamines, three baggies of suspected heroin, and more than $3,000 in cash.

Murphy was arraigned Friday in Wareham District Court.
