FALL RIVER — On Tuesday, August 7th, 2018 at approximately 10:30 pm Officers of Fall River Police Departments Special Operations Divisions Housing Unit were dispatched to the Father Diaferio Housing Complex at 220 Johnson Street in response to an ‘unwanted party’ situation.

Upon their arrival in the complex, officers observed a male known to them as Keyante Lamark Mills, 20, walking with an unidentified male. Mr. Mills has been told not to trespass on Fall River Housing Authority property unless invited by a resident. As Officers approached to inquire about his presence within the complex both males abruptly turned to avoid contact with the Officers.

As officers got within twenty feet, the unidentified male turned the corner of a building and ran. Believing the male to be in possession of a weapon, the officer followed and observed the unidentified male throw a black handgun down on the front steps of a building.

Officer Shane Galus called out the location of the weapon and continued after the unidentified male eventually catching him several buildings away. Sgt. Keith Strong arrived and assisted with the male, now identified as Peter Quinones, 21. Officer Galus returned to the front steps of the building and located the weapon, a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun.
