Law enforcement in Fall River had a successful past week as two wanted fugitives listed on the Fall River Police Department's 'Top Ten Most Wanted' list were apprehended by the Department's Special Operations Division in two separate instances last week.

On the afternoon of Jan.16, Eric Copsetta, an officer assigned to the FRPD Special Operations Division (SOD), received a tip that a wanted fugitive, 36-year-old Jeffrey Louis, could be found in a house on Lindsey Street.

With this information, Copsetta and officers Matthew Mendes, Richard Saraiva, Rory McCoomb, Frank Andrade, and Zachary Dupere responded the Lindsey Street apartment. Trooper Barry Shea of the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force (VFAS) also responded to the residence.

The group of officers surrounded the building upon arrival and gained entry after a female inside the apartment answered their knocks at the door. Once informed of the purpose of their presence, the female pointed out a bedroom and allowed the officers in.

Upon entry into the room, authorities found Louis sleeping in bed surrounded by a plethora of illegal drugs. Police found 36 grams of fentanyl, 16 Suboxone pills, eight blue glassine baggies and one knotted baggie containing over .5 grams of heroin, 25 Clonazepam pills, six Xanax pills, 25 Quetiapine pills, 8 Alprazolam pills, and numerous other pills including Clonidine, , Oxcarbazepine, Promethazine, Sublingual, and Diazepam in the room with Louis.

Just two days later, Fall River Police apprehended another wanted fugitive from the Department's 'Top Ten Most Wanted' list. At about 7:00 a.m. on Jan. 18, SOD Officers John Ruggiero, Richard Saraiva, and Sergeant Daniel Ahaesy responded to the third floor of a South Street apartment where 40-year-old Thomas John Grinvalski Jr.

Both Louis and Grinvalski were taken into custody without incident.
