This winter roof collapse has been a major concern in communities across the Southcoast including Fall River which recently saw the collapse of the vacant Quaker Fabric Corporation building on Sunday.

Lou Pacheco, Chief of Staff for Mayor Sam Sutter says the numerous snow storms and persistently frigid temperatures have made this winter particularly challenging.

Pacheco also says that Fall River has many buildings which are more than 100 years old, which raises concerns about roof collapse.

Pacheco says anyone with concerns about their roofs can reach out to their local building inspectors or fire department.
