The Chief of Staff for the Mayor of Fall River is stepping down.

Mayor Jasiel Correia on Wednesday announced the resignation of Chris Parayno.

In a statement, Parayno said he's enjoyed his time at Government Center, but now wants to pursue other career opportunities.

Parayno was appointed last December. He and the Mayor attended Bishop Connolly High School together.

The Mayor told the Herald News, Parayno has been a tremendous asset to his administration, and wished him the best in all future endeavors.

There was no immediate word on a replacement.
