A Fall River man will serve seven to ten years in state prison following his conviction on drug and firearm charges.

Gregg Miliote, Director of Communications for the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, says 41-year-old Angel Camacho entered a guilty plea in Fall River Superior Court to a multi-count indictment charging him with carrying an illegal firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, receiving stolen property, possession of heroin and possession of cocaine.

An investigation began in September 2014 into an alleged heroin delivery service being run by Camacho.

Police conducted a controlled buy of heroin and obtained a search warrant for the defendant's house in Fall River and his Dodge Durango.

Miliote says the search warrant was executed on Halloween in 2014 during which officers found a .40 caliber handgun with two loaded magazines and an additional 17 rounds of ammunition hidden under the vanity in the bathroom.

Cocaine was also recovered during the execution of the search warrant.

Police traced the recovered gun and discovered that it had been stolen from a home in Providence, RI in April 2014.

''This is a repeat offender who was in possession of loaded handgun that was stolen, along with additional ammunition and drugs,” said District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III "Despite the defendant being 41 years old, he continues to commit serious crimes. This defendant is a danger to the community and needed to be separated from society for a long period of time.''
