NEW BEDFORD — A Fall River man is arrested after he is found in possession of fentanyl while driving in New Bedford.

At about 1:11 p.m. on Thursday, narcotics detectives with the New Bedford Police Department observed a man known to them who was also known to have a suspended license driving in the area of Holly Street and Brook Street. A subsequent traffic stop was made, and as the driver exited the vehicle, police say they observed a small bag of fentanyl.

They arrested the driver, 31-year-old Andre A. Guinier III of 1833 South Main Street, Apartment 1ST in Fall River, and charged him with possession of a Class A substance as well as driving with a suspended or revoked license.
