A 37-year-old Fall River man has pleaded guilty to robbing three banks last year.

City police detectives arrested Charles Solimine in May 2014 after receiving information about three bank robberies over the previous two months.

Police had released a surveillance photo of a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery at a Mechanics Cooperative Bank branch. That incident was similar to another robbery at the same bank the previous month.

Police said Solimine also robbed a BayCoast Bank branch in March 2014 and fled on a bicycle.

The Herald News reports Solimine pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of armed robbery as well as a count of armed and masked robbery. He was sentenced to serve at least four years but no more than seven in state prison. (Associated Press)
