Thanks to Saturday's Town Meeting at Hastings Middle School, Fairhaven's government will look mostly the same.

The Town Government Study Committee suggested four articles to the warrant that would have created town official term limits, among other organization changes to town government. All four articles were voted down

the volunteer group was created to study how the town's government works, and make suggestions on how to improve it.

Board of Selectmen member, Charlie Murphy, told WBSM News that term limits often don't work with small government like they do at the federal level.

Murphy said, "We have, sometimes, a really hard time of finding people to even go out and be a part of different boards. So, this way, if we have good people in place we can keep them."

Town Meeting members also approved a $53 million dollar budget for the 2016 Fiscal Year, which is approximately the amount town officials requested.
