Fairhaven Selectmen were due to announce their choice for the town's first Town Administrator yesterday, but have not yet made a decision.

Selectman Chairman Geoff Haworth says the candidates were interviewed by the Selectmen on Saturday, and presented some interesting backgrounds the Selectmen would like to follow up on. "We wanted to research those things. And because of the tight timeline of only having Monday and Tuesday, we really didn't have enough information to get all that background that us individual Selectmen wanted to," explained Haworth.

Haworth says a final decision will be announced at a Selectmen's meeting at noon on Monday.

The decision to hire a Town Administrator will replace Fairhaven's Executive Secretary Jeffrey Osuch, who is scheduled to retire towards the end of the year.

There are three finalists for the Town Administrator position, which carries a salary between $120,000 and $150,000.
