Fairhaven Police are looking for a robbery suspect who wrestled a purse from a woman, and then ran off.

Sgt. Kevin Kobza says the robbery happened on Wilding Street around 2:30pm. Police say the victim then gave chase into Livesey Park, and jumped on the back of the robber. In the struggle the purse fell to the ground and the robber ran off. The victim, who was unhurt, said she thought a gun was shown.

The suspect was last seen running on Parker Street. Police initially thought he had run into a house on Parker Street, but the house was cleared a short time later.

Kobza says the suspect was described as a white male, 5-foot-3 with a thin build, wearing a grey sweatshirt and a gorilla mask. Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 508 997-7421.
