Fairhaven officials remain optimistic, but cautious when it comes to a medical marijuana dispensary locating in the town.

The planning board held a public hearing Tuesday night, with Compassionate Care Clinics representatives, residents, and the board offering their opinions on the proposal.

The board recommended a dispensary moratorium to town meeting so the town can formulate a zoning bylaw that would allow C.C.C. to take over the former lottery building on Alden Road.

C.C.C.'s attorney, Valario Romano tells WBSM News though his clients are still in the state application process, the moratorium recommendation shouldn't be a problem.

When completed, the zoning bylaw and the moratorium recommendation would go before a special town meeting slated for sometime in January.
