A Fairhaven man has been sentenced to two years in prison after he was convicted of possessing child pornography.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says 51-year-old John Moura was convicted on Thursday.

In addition to the two-year sentence, Moura must register as a sex offender.

State Police began investigating Moura after receiving a tip from Microsoft that child pornography may be being stored on a Skydrive account from an IP address in Fairhaven. After obtaining a search warrant, detectives searched his relative's home on Glenhaven Road after they learned Moura had previously been staying there.

During the trial, the prosecution proved Moura had downloaded four images of child pornography onto the home computer before uploading them to his Skydrive account in 2011.
