The suspect in a hit-and-run accident in Fairhaven has been arraigned.

The Bristol County District Attorney's Office requested $100,000 bail for 20-year-old William James Pires of Fairhaven.

The judge set bail at $500 and ordered Pires to home confinement and to wear a GPS monitoring device. He's only allowed out of his home to go to school or work.

Pires is charged with leaving the scene of personal injury and negligent operation of a motor vehicle in an early morning accident on February 6 that left two people injured.

Pires is due back in court for a pre-trial hearing on March 11.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing. If you have any information on the case, or saw a 2011 grey Mercedes driving in New Bedford or Fairhaven that night, you're asked to call Fairhaven Police.
